A proud display of warmth and light
Summer dances her last
Twirling and spinning, a dazzling sight
But her glory days have passed
For waiting restless in the wings
Autumn watches now
Pacing, ready, as she sings
‘Summer, take your bow’
Her voice, a whispered morning breeze
Whipping Summer’s skirt
Leaves fly to the ground with ease
Autumnal Summer flirt
As the nights draw ever close
And cold seeps in once more
Autumn dons her amber coat
Ready to take the floor
