She walks aimlessly, bare feet padding softly on dry grass. Breathing heavily from the suppressive heat and the building anticipation, a silent tune from inside draws her towards an army of slate grey clouds assembling in the distance.
The storm that gathers on the horizon brewed inside her long ago. Veiled by sunshine it churned in turmoil; suppressed, dismissed, denied. Until it seared her from inside, a fire pit of torment and anguish, burning her up, charring her view of the world, and she called it bad. And the scream that eventually let the fire free roared through her darkest night setting her world aflame, melting, disintegrating, cleansing her very life, leaving only the bare bones of truth.
So she walks through this alien landscape, un-tethered, and the voice of the cool wind rises, driving away the heat of suppression, leaving only trembling anticipation. A crackle of energy pulses through the air, through her very being and as she breathes it in, it charges her. Walking onwards, she is joined by others, naked souls ready to ride the storm with her. The tribe.
Onwards they walk, empowered by unity, and the storm rolls towards them, roaring in thunderous voice ‘behold the magnificence of your world’ and it brings with it a sense of wonder and adventure, infusing them with passion. Towards the storm they march, knowing it is a thing of beauty and power to be embraced and thanked. For suppressed and denied it’s a damaging force, but unleashed and adored it’s an opportunity; a blessing of chaos.
Not knowing what will come, they open their arms wide in the darkness, and welcome the storm as it meets them. The clouds release their cleansing rain and it pours down onto them. With a bellow of thunder, the new world is illuminated by a lighting flash and it truly is magnificent.
