First thing in the morning; a precious time of day
Tangled in your sleepy arms, bathed in sun’s bright rays
Remember in the early days; Elm road, we lay together
Excitement at what lay ahead, soft whispers of forever
Time has floated by us; we’ve changed and we have grown
Life’s gifts we’ve shared together, we’ll never be alone
Like great oaks standing side by side; through every type of weather
Our branches sway, our trunks stand firm, our roots entangle further
Still every day at daybreak, my favourite place to be
Lying here right by your side, your love enfolding me
Hero, best friend, lover; you play so many roles
Life’s theatre it continues, across the stage we stroll
Our love a never-ending force, transcends the bounds of time
Eternity’s our playground, our union divine
Deep beyond your chocolate eyes, I see your soul within
I recognise a part of me, where you end I begin
So as we lay tomorrow morn, welcoming the day
Know I love you so much more than words could ever say
Thank you my love for walking, this winding path with me
Let’s laugh together as we go, wherever life may lead
